A: No. Corten steel forms a dense, protective oxide layer after 1–2 months of outdoor exposure. This patina prevents further corrosion, offering a lifespan of up to 30 years. Once stabilized, the rust finish requires no painting or maintenance—and only gets better with age.

Q2: How should I choose the custom size and steel thickness?
A: Recommendations based on application:

Commercial spaces/streetscapes: 5mm thickness (2–3m length) for higher impact resistance.

Residential patios: 3mm thickness (1–1.5m length) for a balance between weight and durability.

For heights above 0.8m, we recommend adding internal reinforcement ribs.

Q3: Will the drainage holes at the bottom cause soil leakage?
A: No. Each planter comes standard with 5mm drainage holes and a removable mesh filter to prevent clogging and soil loss. A dual-layer filtration system is also available upon request.

Q4: Will the rusted finish get damaged during shipping?
A: All planters are wrapped with protective PE film and reinforced in wooden crates for safe sea or land transport. After delivery, simply remove the film and allow the planter to breathe—natural rain will restore an even rust finish within a week.

Q5: Is professional installation required?
A: Planters under 1.5 meters can be self-installed by two people. Forklift slots are integrated at the base for easier handling. For units over 1.5 meters or for rooftop installations, we recommend using our partnered engineering team. Global installation services are available upon request.
