Grilled corn! A very convenient side dish for barbecue, it is easy to make and has a strong aroma. Just grill it on a hot grill for 10 minutes, then brush it with melted butter or chili for an even better taste.
Best of all, with our BBQ-Grill aus Cortenstahl oder Keramik BBQ-Grill, you can make it fast and fuss-free.
Here are two easy methods — both delicious in their own way — depending on the type of grill you’re using.
how to grill corn on
There are so many ways to grill corn, and they’re all delicious! You can grill it in or out of the husk, directly over the charcoal, or on the grill.
I really love grilling corn, and I think the best way to do it is to husk it and cook it on the grill, not directly over the charcoal or heat source. I’ll tell you why:
I absolutely love corn on the cob! It’s so easy to prepare and the kernels are always juicy. I know some people don’t like the flavour of the husk, but I find it adds a delicious touch. And even if the kernels don’t burn, it’s still a great way to cook them. The best part is the butter, isn’t it?! 😊
Grilling directly over the charcoal or grill flame gives the best charring, but there’s a little risk of drying out some kernels before they’re all cooked through.
Go ahead and husk it, then wrap it up in foil. You’ll get these juicy kernels that are just like grilled corn in the husk. But, I have to say, this method does require the most preparation.
I really love to cook it on the grill – it’s my favourite way to prepare it! It’s a compromise, but I’m sure we can all learn to live with it!
Grilling Corn on a Corten Steel BBQ Grill
Unser Corten steel BBQs are perfect for cooking over open flames and intense heat. If you’re looking for that classic, slightly charred, fire-kissed flavor, this is the way to go.
1. Direct Charcoal Grilling (For a Smoky, Street-Food Flavor)
What you’ll need:
Fresh corn (peeled, or with a few inner husks left on)
Olive oil or butter
Sea salt
Optional: chili powder, paprika, cumin, honey
Steps:
Light the fire and let it settle to medium-hot coals.
Brush the corn lightly with oil or butter.
Place it directly on the grill, near the edge (not in the hottest center).
Turn every 2–3 minutes. You want those beautiful grill marks!
After about 10–15 minutes, brush on your seasoning or glaze.
Pop it back on the grill for one final minute to finish.
Perfect for: smoky BBQ vibes, rustic grilling experiences, and cooking in bulk for groups.
Foil-Wrapped Corn (For Juicy, Tender Results)
What you’ll need:
Corn
Foil
Butter or herb butter
Salt, pepper, optional garlic or rosemary
Steps:
Soak corn in water for 20–30 minutes (optional but helps it steam).
Wrap each cob in foil with a pat of butter and seasoning.
Place on the edge of the grill or over indirect heat.
Grill for 15–20 minutes, turning once.
Carefully unwrap (watch the steam!) and serve.
This method keeps all the moisture in — especially great if you’re serving kids or elders who prefer a softer bite.
Grilling Corn on a Ceramic BBQ Grill
If you’re using one of our ceramic BBQ grills, you’re in for a treat. These grills retain heat beautifully and allow for even, gentle cooking — ideal for perfectly roasted corn with a creamy bite.
Steps:
Heat the ceramic BBQ to about 180–200°C (medium heat).
Brush corn with oil or butter.
Place directly on the grill grates or in a grill basket.
Close the lid and let it roast for 20–25 minutes, turning every 5 minutes.
Top with melted cheese, herbs, or your favorite sauce.
Pro tip: Ceramic grills are amazing for sealing in natural sweetness and giving a golden finish without burning.
